Janie Richardson School Search & Placement (J R School Search, the Company) provides parents and children with bespoke advice and education options to fit families’ individual circumstances. The British School System is complicated and most families need guidance and support in choosing the right school for their child and then gaining entry. Your child’s education and contentment is our top priority and we will work closely with you throughout the school search process, providing support and guidance from start to finish.This privacy notice explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you use this website and when you interact with us.

What information do we collect about you?

J R School Search receives and holds personal data on clients (parents and students) in order to support achievement of their goals. That data may include: 

  • Personal details such as home address, email address, employer, date of birth, religion, passport and visa details and next of kin. 
  • Information concerning a child’s performance at school, including school reports and examinations reports. 
  • Medical records and information, including details of any illnesses, allergies or other medical conditions suffered by a child. 
  • Financial information including information about the payment of fees to J R School Search. 

How do we collect this information?

We obtain this information directly from our clients and students. Our clients complete forms online, email us, provide information verbally or complete hardcopy documents. We also collect educational information and work examples as a result of testing, assessing and interviewing students. We sometimes also request information from previous schools by email (with client permission).

How will we process your personal information?

“Processing” is a catch-all term and means obtaining or recording information or carrying out any operation on the information such as storing or using the information. J R School Search processes information about you and your child in order to liaise with schools re possible vacancies, register for school tours, assessments and interviews, to safeguard and promote the welfare of your child, to facilitate the normal operation of the Company and ensure that all relevant legal obligations of the Company are complied with. 

Also, if you give your consent, we will email you from time to time about other products and services we think may be of interest to you.

Do we share personal information with third parties?

Relevant information will be shared when absolutely necessary. We will call and email potential schools in order to investigate potential placements. School registration forms will be completed by J R School Search and provided to the schools that are agreed upon by the client and the Company.

J R School Search also works alongside Yellowbird Education to further assist students gaining entry to schools. If it is relevant or necessary to share information with Yellowbird, we will seek permission from our J R School Search client. 

Sometimes a client is referred to us by a relocation company. In this situation we will liaise with the relocation company re the status of the student placement.

If it is deemed necessary in the professional opinion of the Directors to share information with other third parties, we will seek the client’s permission to do this.

J R School Search will not share personal information with other external companies for marketing purposes.

Where do we keep your information?

Personal information is kept electronically on the company’s information management system (Google Drive), on employee computers and laptops or as hard copies in a filing system in our office. This can only be accessed by employees who have signed and agreed to our company Data Protection Policy.

We will retain your personal information in a secure manner until your child is 18 years of age or until such time that you request us to dispose of your information.

Access to your information and withdrawing consent

You have the right to request a copyof the information that we hold about you and your child. 

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date – you may ask us to correct or remove information.

You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes.

You have a right to tell us to dispose of all of your personal information.
